Through prayer, conversation, collaboration, and reflection in the spring of 2025 we developed a renewed mission, vision, motto, and logo that reflect our shared values, our Catholic identity, and our commitment to every child who walks through our doors.

Our Blackfoot Name
In the spring of 2023, Elder Peter Strikes with a Gun gifted our school the Blackfoot name: Naatoowootak’oyis – Holy Spirit Lodge This name represents our school as a place of welcome, safety, relational learning, and deep belonging for all. It reminds us that our school is more than a building — it is a home where relationships matter, where every child is seen, and where learning happens in community. We are grateful for this meaningful name and the guidance it offers as we continue our journey of respect, reconciliation, and connection.
Our Mission
Rooted in faith and guided by love, The Children of St. Martha School celebrates each child. We honour connection, foster growth, and inspire every learner to be kind, courageous, and full of hope.

Our vision is to be a community where faith, learning, and connection guide every child to reach their full potential. We will continue to grow together in strength, identity, and compassion — celebrating the uniqueness of each person and building a future of hope.

These three words reflect the heart of our school:
- Belong – Every child is welcomed, valued, and loved.
- Grow – We learn, reflect, and develop together.
- Shine – We celebrate gifts, talents, and the light within each learner.
Our Logo
Our new logo is a visual reflection of who we are: a faith-filled, inclusive, and hope-driven community.
At the center are the bold letters CSM — Children of St. Martha — surrounded by meaningful symbols.
The braided sweetgrass beneath the initials represents strength, unity, and connection.
In Indigenous traditions, sweetgrass is sacred and often braided in three strands — representing mind, body, and spirit — and is used in ceremonies to bring peace and purification.
At CSM, it weaves together faith, learning, and belonging, grounding us in tradition while guiding us toward reconciliation, respect, and relationships.
The sunburst rising above reflects our belief in:
- The light of Christ
- The light within each child
- The promise of a hopeful future
It symbolizes inspiration, growth, and the limitless potential of every learner — echoing our motto: Belong. Grow. Shine.
