At Children of St. Martha School, we pride ourselves on being more than a place of learning — we are a vibrant, faith-filled community where every child is supported on their unique journey of growth. Guided by our motto, Belong. Grow. Shine., we strive to create an environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging, are encouraged to grow in faith and learning, and are empowered to shine through their gifts and talents.
Rooted in Catholic values and guided by love, our mission is to celebrate each child, honour connection, foster growth, and inspire every learner to be kind, courageous, and full of hope. We are committed to nurturing students’ spiritual, academic, and personal development in a community where families and students experience kindness, respect, and joy every day.
In 2023, we were honoured to receive our Blackfoot name from Elder Peter Strikes with a Gun: Naatoowootak’oyis – Holy Spirit Lodge. This name reflects our school as a place of welcome, safety, relational learning, and deep belonging for all. It reminds us that our school is not just a building, but a home where relationships matter and where every child is seen, valued, and supported.
We celebrate the incredible diversity within our community and are dedicated to ensuring that all students feel a strong sense of belonging. Through cultural events, inclusive programs, and opportunities for connection, we foster an environment where everyone’s voice is heard and every individual is celebrated. Our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is woven into our learning, helping us honour Indigenous histories and perspectives in meaningful ways.
Our renewed mission, vision, and logo reflect who we are and who we continue to become. The braided sweetgrass in our logo symbolizes strength, unity, and connection, weaving together faith, learning, and belonging. The rising sunburst represents the light of Christ, the light within each child, and the promise of a hopeful future — echoing our belief in the limitless potential of every learner.
We are especially proud of the vibrant learning experiences that happen through our cross-grade, cross-curricular STEAM & DREAM programming. These opportunities allow students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and personal growth in creative, hands-on ways. Learning alongside peers from different grades builds leadership, collaboration, curiosity, and confidence, while helping students discover their passions and strengths.
Our talented and hardworking teachers are at the heart of what makes our school a place of excellence. Their passion for education, creativity, and dedication ensure that every child is challenged, supported, and inspired. With innovative teaching approaches and a focus on quality learning, our classrooms are spaces where students feel empowered to thrive.
